Tina Maze wins giant slalom in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
11.03.10
Tina Maze demonstrated nerves of steel at the end of the World Cup season in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After securing two silver medals in Vancouver, she turned up the heat again, securing her first World Cup victory in the current season.
In the first run the Slovene ski talent came in second, putting herself into a strategically good starting position for the next run. In the second run she risked everything and succeeded.
Another bad luck day for Fabienne Suter
As the only Swiss skier at the starting gate, Fabienne Suter made a serious mistake in the first run, falling behind by 4.42 seconds. Unfortunately, she was not able to make up for this in the second run and wound up finishing the race in last position.
