Ski Cross: Victory and a silver medal for Stöckli athletes in Les Contamines

12.01.10

Scoring the points this time around were the international members of Stöckli's ski cross team. The Canadian, Ashleigh McIvor, won gold in the women's ski cross race and Stanley Hayer made a second place finish in the men's race!

These are super prospects for Stöckli in this Olympic winter! The ski cross team is in best form. In France Ashleigh McIvor and Stanley Hayer mastered their runs up to the finals where the Canadian left her competitors behind, while her male compatriot Stanley Hayer won silver.

The Swiss team was not as lucky. Mike Schmid missed the final run because of a driving error, but went on to win the small final in return, putting him in fifth place and hence letting him keep his World Cup leadership. Beni Hofer passed the goal as seventh, thus projecting him into the Top 10.

On the ladies' side it was Katrin Müller who also won the small final and finished fifth.
