Andrej Jerman wins the Bormio downhill!
29.12.09
In training he drove clear best time - and in the race the Slovene Andrej Jerman again left the competition behind and won the Bormio downhill.
For the second time in his World Cup career the Slovene found himself on top of the winner's podium, following his 2007 victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. His Stöckli skis carried him down the 3.27 km long slope faster than any of his competitors, especially in the lower part of the run. He arrived at the goal with a 0.44 lead over Mario Schreiber who was later disqualified because of an overly high binding plate. Completing the podium places were Didier Défago (2nd) and Michael Walchhofer (3rd).
Congratulations to the fastest Slovene!
Another bravo goes to Tobias Grünenfelder who classified 7th in today's race and by so doing earned his ticket to the Olympics.
